Avro Anson K4771: The Pioneering First Prototype of a Legendary Training Aircraft This evocative photograph captures the historic moment as Avro Anson K4771, the very first prototype of this iconic British training aircraft, takes to the skies for the first time. Built by the Avro Aircraft Company in 1935, the Anson was designed primarily as a military trainer, but its versatility and durability would later establish it as a key component in various roles, including maritime patrol, communication, and transport.
